The second release from Eagle Visions 'From The Vault'-series arrives just a fortnight after their first release (and again in various sets and packages). The audio comes from L.A. July 13, 1975 and was previously only available as a download, the DVD was filmed in L.A. on July 11, 1975 (booklet erroneously says July 12!) and was previously unreleased. A must have. Harmonica player Marcos Coll released this double album in Spain already in 2011. It includes an instrumental jam (Blue Pack Jam) with Mick Taylor and Tonky Blues Band, recorded probably in June 1999. (Thanks to Jan for the info.) Available here.

Led Zeppelin just re-released their 1971 (then untitled) fourth album, which included Ian Stewart's piano playing on Rock And Roll. The remastered Deluxe Edition includes a second disc with bonus tracks, among them a previously unavailable alternate mix of Rock And Roll. Available here.

Last year Bill Wyman added a bass overdub on an interesting archive track of Levon Helm, which was completed after his death. Also the late Hubert Sumlin (and X-Pensive Wino Steve Jordan) can be heard on the coverversion of Raining In My Heart, which was originally by Slim Harpo. Ronnie Wood plays on three instrumentals on the new album of US-guitarist Jimmy McIntosh. Two jams (titled Slow Blues and Fast Blues) are the two guitarists solely, the third track is a full band coverversion of RW's own song I Gotta See, where a sax substitutes the vocals of the original (which is on I Feel Like Playing). Not another Brian Jones-biography you might say. But Paul Trynka, editor of Mojo Magazine, did more than 100 interviews for this book (among them Keith Richards, Bill Wyman and Andrew Oldham), so this promises to be a good read. 368 pages plus 8 pages of b&W photos. Available here.

Keith Richards did a children's book with 32 pages as a tribute to his granddad Gus Dupree. His daughter Theodora did the sketches in it. Most interesting for us collectors is an accompanying CD which is an earbook (KR has a great narrating voice) and also includes some acoustic guitar, played by the man himself. Available here.

The Stones just played some famous festivals like Rock In Rio and Roskilde. One of the few and the most notorious festival they played in the 70's was Knebworth in August 1976. To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Knebworth festivals www.rockmusicmemorabilia.com have produced an enormous set that covers all the festivals promoted by Freddy Bannister in the 70's at Knebworth and comes, amongst the other goodies, with 26 CD's & 4 DVD's.
